DESIGN PROCESS OF A LEVEL 1
- How they did it ? :
The first thing I did before making my first draft of the level was to play and analyze several first level from other 3D platformers. I wanted to learn on how they achieved their designs.

- Getting Started :
Then, I did my first draft in Sketchup and a Level Design Document (LDD) to have an early guideline to show and communicate with the level artist and the rest of the team.

- The Red Plumber knows best :
Having only the ability to run and jump, the Mario franchise has been a great inspiration to evolve from the First Draft to the Final Result.

I have replayed many of the franchise introduction levels. I analyzed them on how they teach the player the basics of the game.

Multiple Playtests and Iterations helped me to achieve an interesting first level for Ope.
- Gameplay Intention :
A tutorial level that sets the player in a forest near the home of the Avatar. It had to feel like it was an easy task for the Avatar to travel through.

LEVEL WALKTHROUGH
CONCLUSION
Making a first level was a wonderful experience. I enjoy designing for new players and offer an experience that is approachable for people with different levels of skills.

Polishing the player experience the more I could in a short period of time with passionate team members was a very fulfilling opportunity at Campus ADN.
IN-GAME UI/UX
During the 15 weeks of production of Ope, I have also designed and programmed the in-game UI and UX.
